Low Back and Leg Pains

The leg pain can be occured due to the accidental trauma to nerve conditions. The leg pain can always occur as like the burning sensations in the leg. The pain is always occured in the top of the thigh and the ankle. The leg pain maybe severe and make the person not to do regular activities. The problem is that the arteries supplying the legs have hardened and narrowed due to fatty deposits.

The radicular pain comes from a chemical inflammation of the nerve. Leg pain is typically much worse than the low back pain. The leg pain occurs frequently. It affects on specific areas of the leg that are depends on which nerve in the low back is affected. The leg pain spread into the legs due to pinching or irritation of nerves but come from deeper structures in the back which produce a deep, dull aching type of leg pain spreading. the pain spread down to the feet.

  • Numbness and tingling.
  • Muscle weakness.
  • Loss of specific reflexes.
  • Leg paralysis
  • Pain with certain movement.
  • Leg swelling.
  • Pain which disturb sleep.
  • Poor supply of bood to the leg vessels.

Treatment for Low Back and Leg Pains

The diagnosis of low back pain and leg pain take palce with the help of some tests like CT Scan, Discography, Electromyography, Nerve Conduction Studies, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Myleogram, Selective Nerve Root Block and X-rays. The diagnosis and treatment is given to the patient according to it's history of cause.

  • In some cases surgery is necessory to provide relief.
  • Physical therapy help to reduce low back pain and leg pain.
  • Back exercises, weight reduction, steroid injections, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications, rehabilitation and limited activity are also help to reduce low back and leg pain.
  • Regular exercvise is the best way to get relief from low back and leg pain.
  • Massage therapy, Behavioral therapy help to reduce the pain.
  • Some antidepressent are also help to reduce low back and leg pain.
  • Surgical decompression also help to do less amount of pain.

Preventions for Low Back and Leg Pain

  • Avoid further facture or injury to the bones.
  • Do regular exercise like walking, running, swimmin etc.

Prognosis for low back and Leg Pains

The prognosis is depends upon the according to the pain response. Long turn prognosis is general practice in low back and leg pain.
