Monitoring your body for pregnancy
Knowing your body and your ovulation time is essential. It is important to have your sexual intercourse just before ovulation or during ovulation to assure best results. Being healthy and taking appropriate vitamins, including folic acid can enhance your fertility. Also general health that also includes getting rid of excess weight can induce pregnancy.
Know your cycle and most fertile days
You should know when your fertile and infertile days occur. This is best accomplished by getting familiar with your menstruation cycle that is the number of days between the first day of your period and the last day before your next period begins. When subtracting number 14 from the last day before you have your period, your receive an approximate date of your ovulation. It is recommended to have your sexual intercourse around that day. It is not enough to have sex when you are free. A reliable indicator of your ovulation is your body temperature that increases during your ovulation. There are exceptions from this rule and not all women would experience an elevated temperature during this period. In some cases changes in temperature occur after ovulation when it is too late to achieve pregnancy. Ovulation kits tend to have higher chances of detecting fertile days because they rely on lutenizing hormone (LH) that is responsible for ovulation. It is best to start using your detecting kit prior to the approximate beginning of your ovulation. When testing indicates positive, it meands that your fertile days have commenced. You should have sex during this period.
Calculating cycles may fail
Sometimes all means fail and despite following all methods pregnancy doesn’t happen. We may fail in our calculation of our ovulation date. At times, it may be better to have sex earlier or later. It is better to start having sex before the ovulation than during such time because the sperm can survive a few days while inside, increasing your chances of getting pregnant.
Test for other medical conditions
Close monitoring of your menstrual cycle is recommended when trying to get pregnant. If you follow your calendar only, finding out that your best chances of getting pregnant are during the fourteenth day of your cycle and still don’t get pregnant, there may be different patterns occurring in your ovulation. This can be assessed better by a doctor, and you should consult your gynecologist. You may also have problems associated with blood circulation, heart or poor health.
Ways to have sex to get pregnant
Different positions during sex may not always be conducive towards pregnancy. Some positions fail to assure that the sperm remains inside long enough to inseminate the egg. To get pregnant Getting up right after sex is not recommended as the semen may fail to reach the egg.
What about male fertility
There are also ways to test male fertility to measure sperm concentration. Although it is not entirely reliable it can give an indication if the sperm has sufficient motility to survive in the reproductive tract. Spending too much time in heat, such as jacuzzi, hot bath, along with wearing tight pants may diminish male fertility.
