Knowing your pregnancy and its symptoms

Certain pregnancy symptoms are not apparent. They may involve simply feeling tired but occur already in the second week of pregnancy. Specific symptoms can be recognized only after three months. Lack of menstruation not always indicates pregnancy. One way to know early if pregnancy occurred is by following your ovulation pattern that will now differ. There will be a higher temperature after two weeks.

First pregnancy symptoms and your health

Other symptoms that become apparent upon conceiving a baby involve morning sickness that starts two weeks after getting pregnant along with tender and sensitive breasts. Morning sickness usually occur in the morning but can also happen during the day. There can also be a feeling of sleepiness. Those who are able to recognize differences in their bodies are also able to know that changes occurred.

Individual characteristics during pregnancy

Women may experience different symptoms each time they are pregnant. Cramps that may be present at the beginning of pregnancy resemble period cramps, and can also be caused by other factors such as infection.

Hormonal changes and pregnancy

Pregnant women feel more tired and have headaches due to various hormonal changes. Headaches that were present before pregnancy also occur later. There is also more frequent urination due to the pressure of the fetus on your bladder. Hormonal changes are responsible for mood swings. There is a higher amount of both estrogen and progesterone in the body. This results in higher sensitivity, while enlarged blood vessels become apparent when veins appear on breasts. In this way, your breasts are being prepared for breast feeding. Other changes in the body includes the dilution of blood vessels. Also lower blood pressure can increase a feeling of dizziness.

Changes in eating patterns

There are also obvious changes in your taste. Certain foods that were previously your favourite become replaced by entirely different foods. Different patterns of eating along with an increased appetite lead to an increase in your weight. With time an increasingly bigger size of your stomach will be an undeniable sign of pregnancy.

Only pregnancy test can confirm symptoms

In such early stages of pregnancy the only way to know for certain that you are pregnant is by doing a pregnancy test. The above symptoms may also be associated with other diseases. Even medical testing can be sometimes wrong, and may need to be done again.

Sampling urine for pregnancy

A hormone that indicates pregnancy is called human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). It is produced just after becoming pregnant and is high enough to be a reliable sign of pregnancy. As it is present in urine and blood, testing involve sampling these fluids for their content. The amount of hCG grows steadily for three months, remaining on the same level until birth.

Sampling your blood is the most reliable way to recognize pregnancy

The most reliable pregnancy test involves blood test. It can detect the presence of hCG with more precision while it can also verify pregnancy within a week of being pregnant.
