Depression is common psychological problems which disturb whole life of affected person. Effect of depression seen in family, work places, school and in social activity. Depression not only changes the life of affected person but a person who is caring for him/her is also negatively affected. Many times depression may become serious resulting in suicide. All people are affected by depression and there is no specific age limit.

  3. Death of love one or any serious issue is also responsible for causing depression.
  4. Cancer and heart disease sometimes give rise to depression.
  5. Primary reason for depression is extreme mental stress.
  6. Nervousness, tension, too much intake of drugs, economical problem and vitamin B shortage are also reasons for occurring depression.

Symptoms of Depression

Various symptoms are shown by depressed person. Different patient may show different symptoms. Below are some common symptoms shown by depressed person.

  • Sleeping problem
  • Headache
  • Crying
  • Concentration problem
  • Loss of interest
  • Suicidal feelings or attempts
  • Feeling of tiredness, helplessness or guiltiness
  • Loss of sexual interest
  • Low blood pressure

How to Cure Depression?

  1. Doctors mostly prescribe tricyclic antidepressants drugs to relief depression and sleeping problem. Many times medicines and psychotherapy together is applied for good result.
  2. Electro convulsive therapy is applied when degree of depression is high. In this electric current is passed to the brain.
  3. Psychotherapy or counseling, cognitive therapy, talk therapy is helpful to overcome from depression.
  4. Experienced and trained psychologists are required for perfect result.
  5. Neurotherapeutic treatments like Vagus nerve stimulation, Brain stimulation, Transcranial magnetic stimulation is applied if above described methods fails.
  6. Some home remedies are also available for treatment of depression.
