How to Live Happily During Old Age
It has been proven by scientific researches that unhappiness is generally not connected to aging. Instead, when people perceive time is limited, they focus more on well-being. Brain imaging studies find older peoples brains react less intensely, and for less time, to negative emotions. Improved morale as we age is probably a combination of perspective on life and changes to the amygdalae (a part of the brain that processes emotion).
Every one of us is essentially after happiness. Why do we seek happiness? It is because we are unhappy, most of the time. Now and then we have tastes of what we assume is happiness. Being in old age may take you to the feeling of gloom and sadness. Here are somethings which you can do to make life happier for you:
- Be busy and indulge yourself in some activity. Find a part-time job. Not only do you now have the freedom to work anywhere you want, but you can pick a job that is fitted to your interests and hobbies.
- Travel. Book those wonderful trips you've been dreaming about all your life. Go travel the world.
- Involvolve in social groups. Join volunteer groups, or help out with organizations you feel are worth your time, join quilting clubs, or golf clubs.
- Spend time with the ones you love.
- Invite people over for dinner, do what you want.
- Make changes to your house, or better yet, build on to your home.
- Try puzzles or crosswords. Browse sites and help other to learn the meaning of gift called life.
- Give free coaching in the subject in which you are comfortable to the needy.
- Play with small kids/babies. It is a wonderful feeling in itself.
