Adenomyosis - Symptoms, Causes and Treatment of Adenomyosis
Adenomyosis is defined as the presence of endometrial glands and supporting tissues in the muscle of the uterus where it normally would not occur. When that gland tissue undergoes growth during the menstrual cycle and then subsequent sloughing, the old tissue and blood cannot get out of the muscle and flow out of the cervix as part of normal menses. This trapping of the blood and tissue causes uterine pain in the form of menstrual cramps. It also produces abnormal uterine bleeding as some of the blood finally escapes the muscle and results in prolonged spotting.
Pregnancy produces large amounts of Natural Progesterone and usually makes adenomyosis better. Natural Progesterone opposes estrogen. Also, adenomyosis disappears after menopause. What does that tell you about the cause of adenomyosis? Excess estrogen causes adenomyosis!
Cause of Adenomyosis
The cause of adenomyosis is also unknown. The most widely accepted theory of adenomyosis development postulates that the barrier between the endometrium and myometrium, which normally prevents invasion of endometrial glands and stroma into the myometrium, is compromised allowing invasion to occur.
Symptoms of Adenomyosis
Adenomyosis may be present and cause no symptoms. When this condition presents with symptoms the typical triad is uterine enlargement, pelvic pain and heavy and abnormal menstrual bleeding. Pain, which is most common during menses (dysmenorrhea), may be severe cramping or knifelike. However, pain may be present any time during the cycle and not only during the period. Uterine enlargement may be generalized with a large globular uterus or it may present as localized "tumors". Periods may be very heavy and prolonged, with passage of clots. Heavy bleeding may lead to anemia. Later, abnormal bleeding may be present any time during the cycle besides the heavy periods.
Adenomyosis Treatment
The solution for adenomyosis is to avoid xenoestrogens ( chemical estrogens ) and then take Natural Progesterone. By taking Natural Progesterone, we are creating what is known in the mainstream medicine as a "pseudo pregnancy" or false or fake pregnancy.
