Candida Infection - Causes, Symptoms, Treatment and Picture of candida royale and Albicans

Candida is a yeast like fungus infection that can cause disease in humans and animals. it is commonly found in the normal flora of the mouth, skin, intestinal tract, and vagina. Candida may multiply and overgrow on the silicone material, which may lead to malfunction of the prosthesis. It can be very serious if it infects the blood or other body tissues.

Candida was the first single released by Tony Orlando and Dawn, in August 1970. Candida, or Monilia, is a skin rash caused by a yeast living on normal skin in 80% of all people An infection with Candida is called candidiasis. A common fungus which leaves infected skin red in patches.

Symptoms of Candida

In women, vaginal irritation and itching, a thick white vaginal discharge, pain on passing urine and, rarely, vaginal bleeding. In men, there may be irritation or a rash on the end of the penis, but often there are no symptoms.

Diagnosis of Candida

Often diagnosed by the typical signs on examination, and diagnosis can be confirmed by a high vaginal swab.

Treatment and mangement of Candida

Simultaneous treatment of both partners with anti-fungal drugs. These can be taken by mouth, or applied to the genitalia as creams and pessaries. Natural yoghurt' s often used instead of anti-fungal medication.
