There are 2 principal types of disease: acute and chronic. An acute disease does not last very a long time. It only leaves or in response to the treatment, such as taking medicine or to have the surgery. The throat of streptocoque is an example of an acute disease.

A chronic disease is continuous. It affects your health over a long period--probably your whole life. In much of case, there is no manner of treating a chronic disease. The diabetes and hypertension are examples of the chronic diseases.
