How to Keep Food from Sticking to Pans?
The American Heart Association advises people to use nonstick cookware to cook food with minimum fats to create a healthier diet.
Steps for keeping food from sticking to pans
- Buy good quality, heavy pans, because thin pans can develop hot spots can cause food to burn and stick.
- If you are making backed items greased the pan with butter or flour.
- Take butter or oil and heat it for a minute before adding a food on the pan.
- Don't overcooked food.
- Heat the pan enough before cooking but don't keep temperature on high because the quality of the coating may reduce and give off fumes, it may discolor.
- If you are using non stick pans should not be left unattended without food.
Points to remembered while cleaning
- Keep the pans completely clean after using it. Clean it with non scratchy cleanser such as soft scrub.Oily residue on pan can cause food to stick.
- If you are using non stick pans don't use metal utensils and for cleaning don't use metal scrub, because this is resulting in removing coating. That is why food will stick to while cooking.
- Don't use baking soda, automatic dishwasher detergent, liquid bleach for cleaning non stick pans.
- After using the pan first cool it and then wash it.
- If the pan is burned, don't rinse it, take a mixture of 3 parts of water and 1 part od distilled vinegar to cover the burned food, boil for 10 minutes keep it for overnight.
- If the food gets burnt on stainless steel, soak the pan for overnight and boil it before cleaning.
