Blood is 20% acid and 80% alkali. When the proportion of acid in the blood increases, it affects the digestive system in the body and gives rise to the ailment of acidity. Acid Reflux is usually known as heartache, acidic pain and heartburn.

The patients of acidity should be careful about the food they take. The patient should be given dry, tasty and spicy food though several scholars do not subscribe to this theory. But you can yourself experiment with this kind of food and see the result. According to my experience the above type of food is beneficial. The use of liquids should be restricted but milk can be taken frequently. Pickles and tea are harmful.

Home Remedies for Acid Reflux using Potato

Potato is naturally alkaline. It contains potassium salt which restricts acidity. The patients of acidity can reduce their problem by taking potatoes regularly with meals. Take roasted or boiled potatoes only.

Simple home remedy for acid reflux: Tea is harmful for the patients of acidity.

Good home remedies for acid reflux: Carrot juice cures acidosis.

Natural remedy for acid reflux: Eating a clove after meals in the morning and evening is beneficial.

Effective herbal home remedies for acid reflux: In case of sour burps because of heat, drinking radish juice mixed with sugar candy powder will be beneficial.

Another home remedies for acidity: If the patient takes two pieces of petha (sweet) regularly, it will cure the problem of acidity.

Effective home remedy for acid reflux: Banana: Eating a banana with sugar and cardamom powder is beneficial.

Home Remedies for Acid Reflux with lemon

The patient should take a glass of hot water with lemon forty-five minutes before meals. It will help in the digestion of the food. The potassium in lemon neutralizes the acid.

Taking a glass of hot lemon water in the evening is also useful. Dr. Albert in his book, Fruits for Health has written that people have a wrong notion that lemon is acidic. As a result, because of ignorance about its medicinal effects the patients of acidity do not use it. They should know that lemon neutralizes acids.

Phalsa : The use of phalsa provides relief to the patients of gas and acidity and this will prevent acid reflux.

Amla: Take 2 tsp. of am/a juice mixed with equal quantity of sugar candy powder or take dried am/a powder mixed with sugar candy powder with water and this will help curing acid reflux.

Lemon juice cures acidosis. You can take lemon juice in water several times in a day. To improve the taste, you can mix honey; do not add salt to it. If you are suffering from hyperacidity, do not eat food for 2-4 days. Take only the juice of such items as lemon, orange, mausambi, pineapple, carrots, pumpkin, cucumber, bottle gourd, etc.

Milk : Taking a little quantity of cold milk thrice a day is beneficial home remedy for patients of acidity.

Coconut: Drinking the milk of raw coconuts is highly beneficial in acidity.

Onion: Mix 60 gms. of onion pieces in 30 gms. of curd and take it thrice daily. To derive maximum benefit take it at least for a week. This is benefecial in the treatment of acid reflux.

How to get rid of acid reflux - steps to getting rid of acid reflux using cumin seeds

Cumin seeds: Mix and grind equal quantity of cumin seeds, coriander seeds and sugar candy. Take 2 tsp. of it with cool water twice daily in the morning and evening after meals. It will provide relief from acidity.

Black pepper: Grind black pepper, mix rock salt to taste and take ½ tsp. with water after meals in the morning and evening. It is beneficial for patients of acidity. This will completely remove acid reflux.

Caraway seeds: Mix a tsp. of the powder of caraway seeds and the juice of a lemon in a glass of water and drink it. This will help in reducing acid reflux.

Take only light food items like rice, moong daal and vegetables like bottle gourd, ridged gourd, parwal tinda, etc. Also make use of green coriander leaves with meals. This is benefecial in the treatment of reflux.
