Acne is a few or a collection of pimples and pustules which erupt over the face and back and is caused by the sebaceous glands, which are attached to each side of the hair follicle, overproducing and becoming blocked. Stress, poor diet, allergic reaction and hormonal imbalances occurring mostly during adolescence, and occasionally during the menopause in women and also prior to periods, may all create the conditions under which acne will erupt.

Natural home remedy for acne using witch hazel - Use this either by itself or mixed with rose water or cider apple vinegar. A very old-fashioned remedy was to use it in equal quantities with cabbage juice. This will completely remove acne.

Herbal home remedy for acne- Wash with a soapwort solution if the skin is very greasy. This will prevent acne.

Home remedies for acne using Lemon juice -Either dab it on neat which is especially valuable if you have been picking - or with an equal quantity of water to wash a larger area. This will help in reducing acne.

Herbal lotions for acne- Lady's mantle, yarrow, marigold, lavender and camomile may all be useful as may any healing herbal vinegar diluted with water. This will help curing acne.

Home Remedy for the treatment of Acne using camomile

Camomile, lime, sage, thyme Anyone or a mixture of these herbs in a warm poultice will soothe and heal. Stand the herbs in a bowl of boiling water until they have softened and cool a little before applying. Many people prefer to use them as a 'steamer' to open the pores but this may cause infection to spread.

How to get rid of acne - steps to getting rid of acne using lemon

Thyme and lemon lotion Boil several sprigs of fresh thyme in 2 cups of water for two minutes and leave to infuse for five. Strain and add the juice of 1/2 lemon, Use this to rinse the face at least twice a day.

Diet and Natural Home Remedies for acne

Nettle tea Use nettle tea to wash with and to drink. Parsley juice and the expressed juice of comfrey leaves are also invaluable lotions.

  • Mix lime juice and rose water in equal portions. Apply on affected area. Wash it off after 20-30 minutes with lukewarm water.
  • Baking soda can be used to treat pimples for oily skin.
  • Apply ripe tomato or cucumber pulp on acne pimples and keep upto 1 hour, then wash.
  • Make a paste of roasted & powdered pomgranate skin with fresh lime juice and apply over boils,acne, pimple, blackheads and whiteheads.
  • Apply grated potatoes as poultice to treat skin blemishes, wrinkles, boils, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads , etc.
  • Make a paste of sandalwood with rose water. Apply on affected area. Wash it off after 20-30 minutes with lukewarm water
  • Rub the pimple( acne) with a fresh cut clove of garlic.
  • Drinking atleast 1 litre of water a day to impart a healthy glow to the skin
