How to Get Rid of Mildew? | Nasty and smelly Mildew

Mildew occurrence is the common sight in any house, it can be seen anywhere in the house right from bathroom tiles to your cloths, they just get into anything which gives a sustainable environment for them to live in.

Mildew comes in the group of molds and fungus which inhabits inside the abode and then it’s really difficult to remove them from the place.

Ways to get rid of Mildew?

Tthere are some methods that can be applied to eradicate the problem of mildew completely

  • Mildew can thrive in almost any organic material like your cloths, leather goods, and paper items or plainly on walls or tiles of house, where they will have some moisture to sustain. Other places where they can be found most likely are window sills, shower assembly and basements
  • They have number of species which differs according to their host organism, if they are on plant then it is another species and each species have different appearance and color like black or white and odor.
  • Their main inhibitory places are generally damp with lots of moisture which will enable them to multiply in numbers along with this there will be very less air ventilation and acute amount of light coming in.
  • Now you know exactly where they can be found, so just avoid the creation of basic environment that will promote their growth as the aftereffects of mildew are quite deleterious, right from the filthy odor to the decayed cloths, so preventing their growth is the best option you have.
  • Clean your cloths if they get soiled as fast as possible because they provide a good breeding ground for them instead if you clean the cloths they will not get attracted to your cloths.
  • If you house walls are infested by them then the best thing to do is to remove their necessary moisture, this you can do by using air conditioners or dehumidifiers, as they will make the air cool not moist and if you continue doing this you will never get any mildew on the walls.
  • If the light arrangement is not proper, especially in the bathroom then change it place a bright bulb as it will repel the mildews from arriving at the spot. If you have them already by placing bright light the present mold will also go away.
  • If the problem is on the basement where you are getting a bad odor ,then just spread chlorinated lime powder which you will get easily in chemicals shop and let it be there for a night, or until you get rid of the musty smell which will indicate that they are no more present in the area.

  • You can apply silica gel wherever you feel that the mildew can appear, as it removes the moisture entirely from the area. It can be used especially inside the food containers or many times cloths to remove the fungus from your cloths but ensure to apply it lightly otherwise your cloths may get the stains.
  • If it is present on walls or tiles then just take the normal brush and scrub them while applying warm water and dap solution. This will remove them from the place easily and you will get rid of them perfectly.
