Rust is the reaction which happens on metal after it comes in the contact with oxygen which forces the discoloration of the metal. This not only affects the quality of metal but also makes it dangerous if anyone gets hurt with it. In house it’s important to remove the rusted material outside. It can leave some stains behind like on carpets where you have kept some metal piece on or the tools made from iron that will get some stains due to oxidation but instead of throwing it try these tips to remove the rust from your cookware and other materials-

  • The metal gets rusted when it comes in contact with either water or oxygen which makes it flaky and it also oozes a red orange substance which we call rust. If we do not take care it can also get to our cloths by destroying them as rust stains are quite hard to remove but still you can try some things to at least fade it away.
  • The best formula to remove the rust and its stain is to act quickly whenever you notice the rust formation or stains so that it will become easy to cope with it. The rust which was formed for long time takes time to go off.
  • If you have bad rust on any surface like your vessels or chairs etc then best thing to do will be to apply a nice sum of phosphoric acid which works really well on rust by undergoing in a chemical reaction which removes the rust from the surface.
  • Now when you have seen the reaction happening just clean it with a cloth lightly and all the rust will come off as it has been converted to phosphate .but be careful while handling phosphate.
  • After the rust comes out now its time to take prevention, there is a liquid available in market which protects the substance from corroding and that is rust primer so whenever you follow the above procedure just coat the surface with this primer to prevent it from further rusts gaining.
  • Even sand paper works good to get rid of the rust from your material, for this you have to rub the sand paper on it until it gets scraped off and then apply the protective primer to prevent it in future.
  • You can use a wire brush yes the same you have used to clean your bathrooms as it is equipped with a strong and plastic bristles it will clean the rust quite well. You can use this brush and sandpaper together to achieve better results.
  • Prepare a paste with baking soda and water and apply it all over the rusted surface and leave for some time, this soda will remove the rust completely at least fades it quite well. For best results first scrap it and then use soda.
