How to get rid of Poison Ivy?

It is a plant of family Anacardeaceae which is also called wood wine, its particularly known to produce a skin irritant which causes severe rash if comes in touch with. It is widely seen in the whole north America and the population living in that continent is mostly hit by this particular rash. This affects manly to the people who work or live outside and the worst part is the rash mainly remains for at least a week long which can really make life miserable but do these tricks to get rid of the poison ivy.

How to get rid of Poison Ivy?

  1. The tree emits a poison or allergen substance called ass urshiol which is responsible for the severe allergy and rash. This allergen is especially dangerous to humans as other animals show no effect even after consuming the leaves but instead in human a few drops of urshiol can cause allergy to thousands.
  2. Besides pain the allergy causes itching and a swelling on the affected area and in very few people it has even caused death but that is the worst case where large amounts of urshiol can came in contact with body.
  3. This action is nothing but reactions of body, when the substance establishes contact with skin or either gets into body our bodies defense mechanism gets activated and starts destructive our own body cells in order to kill the allergen which body supposes as virus or bacterial infestation.
  4. There are some first aids that you can make use of but they are not cure to the problem and you need to show up to medical practioner for complete relief, for relief from pain or itching you can try these things.
  5. The best thing you can do is application of hot water and to your relief it will really work by soothing the pain and itch. Repeat this after an hour or two to have somewhat relief regularly
  6. I actually don’t know personally but have heard it many times that use of horse urine is very useful in poison ivy rash. You have to apply it by cotton and it seems to sooth the area quite well more that hot water but you should have horse for that.
  7. Now if you have the plant read on to know about its removal. First you keep in mind remove it from roots so for that smothering is best but cover yourself properly and don’t inhale the toxic air left in atmosphere by the plant for that wear mask and after that let the plant loose on ground and cover it with newspaper or cardboard to avoid its contact.
  8. Make use of herbicide to kill the plant and choose the one which is equipped with the ingredient called triclopyr which is known to kill the poisonous plants swiftly or you can also use O though brush- B gon a famous herbicide for poison ivy.

Natural Ways to get rid of Poison Ivy

  1. Other method to remove the plant from roots is y digging. You have to dig the whole surfaced around the plant to stop it from further growing and this you can do by using normal gardening tools.
  2. If you have removed the plant be careful while disposing it as you know it can lead to death so be very careful and dispose it by covering in newspaper and then polythese and five two to three coating of news paper and then throw it off.
