Skin Disorders

The skin is the largest organ in the body. It is constantly on display to a greater or lesser extent. Anything out of the ordinary can cause upset not merely for its own sake but because the disease and disfigurement is obvious to others.

The port-wine stains that some people are born with, where an area of skin (often the face) is purple, are harmless but can cause a lifelong loss of self-esteem. Most skin diseases are made worse by stress but the diseases themselves lead to stress.
