B and T Lymphocyte - Absolute Count of Lymphocyte
A lymphocyte is a type of white blood cell present in the blood
usually about 7 to 8 micrometers in length. Any of the nearly colorless cells found in the blood, lymph, and lymphoid tissues, constituting approximately 25 percent of white blood cells and including B cells, which function in humoral immunity, and T cells, which function in cellular immunity.
Specimen:
3 ml whole blood in 1 Lavender Top (EDTA) tube and 2 peripheral smears. Transfer whole blood into plastic transport container. Ship refrigerated. DO NOT FREEZE.
