Neutrophils are a primary defense against bacterial infection. Neutrophils are made in the bone marrow. The purpose of the neutrophil is to flip out and kill bacteria.

Specimen: 3 ml whole blood in 1 Lavender Top (EDTA) tube and 2 peripheral smears. Transfer whole blood into plastic transport container. Ship refrigerated. DO NOT FREEZE.
