All About Giving Birth
Assuring good childbirth
Childbirth is a significant, life changing experience for mothers. It is best if complications are avoided. It can be achieved if we know practices and risks that are associated with it. Childbirth will be successful in delivering a healthy baby if appropriate nutrients, such as folic acid and iron are supplied. Iron is important for your organism to function properly. It is also important to know what are the signs of labor that occurs in stages. Although there are no specific triggers of labor, the body may undergo certain preparations by lowering the baby. There is less pressure in the ribcage that gives an impression of lightness. Contractions signify that the child is moving down towards the pelvis when the cervix dilates. Pre-labor symptoms
Before labor begins contractions become more frequent and painful, occurring every 10 to 20 minutes along with dilation. At this stage contractions may prevent from sleep, and dilation may be incomplete. If labor doesn’t progress further, it may indicate so called false labor.
The first stage of labor
During the first stage contractions increase, becoming stronger and longer. It is best to be re-laxed, change positions or take a shower. Cervix dilates more, and the process of labor begins with pushes present trying to get the baby out. With an increasing pressure down the back, cervix dilates, and it is time to go to the hospital. When water breaks the fluid around the baby starts leaking from the vagina. Contractions can begin before the water breaks. The water can break without contractions as well. Labor needs to start after the water breaks. If this doesn’t occur, labor induction is necessary to prevent any diseases that the child may acquire if it stays inside the stomach. Labor can last from twenty minutes to several hours. Following the birth the pla-centa comes out. As pregnancies differ depending on individual circumstances, it is best to con-sult your doctor if you are unsure about a particular symptom.
How safe is a cesarian birth for the mother
A cesarian may save lives, but it also may increase the risk of complications such as hemorrhage, causing also other consequences such as psychological distress and emotional problems. Women who have cesarian are more negatively predisposed towards birth. They also have negative atti-tudes towards their children, while having problems with breast feeding. A child may also acci-dently suffer during cesarian. Subsequent pregnancies may occur outside the uterus with further infertility problems and unwillingness to get pregnant again. Various complications that may arise increase the chance of medical interventions, including operations that are needed during the following births. It takes a considerably longer for the mother to recover after this type of birth when compared with a vaginal delivery.
Consequences of a cesarian birth
Babies born in this way may have a low weight or have a damaged brain or back. Only a planned cesarian can have more chances of success along with a lower number of infections. Emotional consequences can be compared to other types of deliveries.
